I’ve been through all of Twinnings offerings and want something a bit better.

    What is there?

Of course the Northerners will say Yorkshire tea.
In the van/site box its good old Sainsburys Red Label as its so strong it doesn’t matter what the waters like 😀

there’s nothing wrong with twinings, they make some excellent tea.

(but there is more to tea than twinings)

do you want sweet tea? or something more ‘serious’…?

sweet tea: make your own ‘Moroccan’ tea, with green tea, mint leaves, a little cinnamon, and honey.

‘serious’ tea: Chunmee. i get mine from a Chinese man called Shi Guang.

Birchall. their Pfunda earl grey is amazing (and i dont usually like earl grey)
i met some of the Birchall people through work and was surprised to hear that indian tea is on the wane due to the ages of the bushes and Rwanda/Kenya is where it’s at. they sold all their indian tea interests and and now solely use African.

I have nothing to add to this thread apart from saying a bloke at work only drank Yorkshire Tea becuase he didn’t like any of the ‘foreign muck’.

Don’t know how widely available it is but my local tea and coffee shop does a really nice russian caravan tea. Strong, lightly smoked, none of that earl gray or flowery nonsense. don’t think i’ve ever seen it on one of the big brand boxes but being lucky enough to have a local tea and coffee shop i don’t pay that much attention

I hate Twinnings tea, love Miles tea. I had a few free samples from Teapigs.co.uk, was impressed and have ordered some weird flavours, popcorn, chocolate, chilli, etc, I’m not expecting to like all flavours.

Try Atkinsons in Lancaster. They do mail order.

Really good business with good ethics and run by lovely people. They also produce fantastic coffee and have two great coffee shops in Lancaster.

    Redbush with extra grated ginger.

This may not count as tea. I may be shifting a cold too.

Punjana is a good shout , Thomsons also do another tea called Irish Blend which is better, IMO.

Yorkshire Gold is also good, slightly more fragrant then the standard offering.

    Rooibos / Redbush

or Yorkshire for a more traditional tea with caffeine.

Otherwise coffee (and no, I don’t mean Starbucks/Costa garbage, or even anything from the supermarket) 😛

Actually I’m on the Rooibus because of an incident with overdosing on the coffee 😀 . I’ll do one, maybe two at the most of coffee and then Rooibus at work for my all day sipping now.

Singletrackmind, I married an Ulsterwoman. Tea is like another religion to her. Strangely she also rates the Sainsbury’s cheap and cheerful own label tea bags.

    I like this

I think they still do it in Waitrose – I’m a big Mr Scruff fan so I nearly fell over when I got some, lovely stuff
