As I said, my Skagen has lasted longer than anything else I’ve had by a large margin and I’ve had various supposedly tough watches previously.
True. I perhaps wasn’t really referring to the durability of the mechanism and the strength of the strap etc. but more that the designs are often polished and quite ‘dainty’ for want of a better word.
I wonder how they would look after a couple of years of scuffs and scrapes compared to something that looks a bit more ‘rugged’ to start with?
I’ve got an old Accurist that is battered, but looked quite workmanlike to start with so it doesn’t look out of place, whereas the Rotary that my wife got me as a wedding present is highly polished and I dread the day I get a scuff/scratch on it, as it will look more ‘damaged’ than just ‘worn’…..
Dunno, just thinking out loud, really…..
I think I’d be going for something like that diving watch up there with the rubber strap.
