My HTC Desire is due for contract upgrade, been paying £25 per month. I like the android operating system and like the HTC. So what is good out there at the moment. Any alternatives to HTC? Not too keen on an Iphone thanks...

Another happy S2 owner here, amazing thing and my wife is very jealous when I put it next to her HTC Desire.
Apart from the GPS is crap. How does yours work Don Simon/brickwizard?

went from Desire to Galaxy S2 - I like the bigger screen, battery life seems *much* better too
GPS as above seems a bit slow to fix at first

I replaced my Desire with a Sensation. I love it.
The GPS is a known issue with the S2. Make sure you're on the latest firmware.

i'm finding the GPS on my S2 to be fine, although i did upgrade from a galaxy S which was shockingly bad (usually took 3-5 mins to get a lock, apart from when it failed to locate any satellites whatsoever that is!)

My Desire contract comes to an end soon as well, currently paying T Mobile £15 a month for 1 or 200 hundred mins and txts (never use them all) and 3gb of data. My actual usage appears to be about 1GB. Suspect I will have to pay more than £15 to get a like for like contract over 24 months? I don't mind paying up to around £100 for the phone if it keeps the monthly charge down a bit.

As a rule, the more you can pay up front, the less you pay overall. They know this, which is why they try to encourage two year contracts.

I have a VF refurb HTC sensation available.

I just got a Sony Experia Arc S - payg - £229. It's meant to have a really nice camera on board, better than the competition, and ok battery life too. Nice screen, albeint not an amoled like the S2. But don't overlook the S1, still for sale at CPW for less than £250 - against £430 for the new one.

Cheers for the reply guys, like the look of the S2 and the htc sensation. Depends on the deals I suppose!
