You could do a lot worse than a Singular Swift.

Your own hardtail with a converter kit. That’s what I’ve been doing for the last 10 years. I can swap it back to gears in 90 mins, then back to SS again in 30.

Another rec for a Singular Swift – always brings a smile to my face when I ride it, comfortable, responsive bike.

A lot of people will probably say Genesis iO. I would.

What price point? And for what terrain?

Depends on budget. I have a Ti IF but on a good day I still find myself reaching for my v braked On One.

Genesis IO is not bad, good value…

build one from ground up to your own spec and get that sens of achivement when everyone tells you your mad and itl never work but yet they still cant loose you thru the woods 😆

i went thou the conversion phase but never worked 100% but when i took the plump for a propper ss frame it all became clear it was the way forwerd for me.

as for the question sanderson is worth a look for a good starting base.

    my 2p worth.

I’ve got a Genesis iO, all I did was fit a set of Tora SL’s and some decent tyres and it’s an awesome bike.

Use your old bits and build one, that’s what ss is about using up old crap to build a winter bike so you don’t knacker your best one

I really love my slidey Inbred. Sanderson Soloist in the std or posh 853 variety would be worth a look also.

I’ve gone down the hardtail and converter route. As I’ve been riding it singlespeed for 2 years my next frame may be specefic or at least one that doesn’t need a tensioner.

I’d recommend a Chumba HX1, Cotic simple or something from on-one.

I prefer just using a vertical dropout frame- as living with it overall is easier imo. The chain tensioner means you never need to bother adjusting the dropouts or ebb to get chain tension, and the back wheel is a lot easier to get out to fix a mid ride puncture than carting a couple of 15mm spanners around…

Disagree, horizontal dropouts, with no silly adjuster like the more modern On One’s etc work really well and no need for all the weight of a chain tensioner.

This was awsome, really fast, light and nimble (but avoid these forks :!:), sadly no longer with me….. 😥

Another vote for the Genesis, although they have stopped being made now and I struggled to get hold of a new frame.

Also Scandal although mine is a 29er.

Inbreds/Wangas are always a good option too

Use a quick release then there is no need for nuts. One of my fixed wheel bikes uses a quick release with no problems

EBB, adjust once and forget, that’s been my experience over the last 18 months with my Swift
