I like fonts as much as the next man, but having a thread about it is wrong, keep this sort of thing to yourselves. It will be used as evidence against you in the future.

I don't see Futura as an alternative to Helvetica because it gives things a very specific look, which great if that's what you are after, but it's VERY specific.

Helvetica is just something you use, you've never said, "you know what this needs? Helvetica!" but I have found myself actually saying to a colleague, "you should totally use futura for that"

Cheer everybody up with Comic Sans.

And rot in the very special hell designers reserve for people who use Comic Sans needlessly*

*It does have its uses, it is apparently one of the easiest fonts for dyslexics to read, and as such is recommended by the BDA

Default font in Word these days though, so not very different.

Good work guys. Needed something clean and anonymous and sure there will be something there.

Thanks for the extra info too, I'm always amazed at the useless stuff that turns up on these threads!

We use a lot of AvantGarde, it does the job nicely.

Yeah, when I was at Uni they switched all the exam paper fonts to comic sans for that reason. Was interesting seeing complex maths problems written out in comic sans though!
