So me and the missus have the day off work to ride somewhere new.

We initially were going to drive down to the peaks and pick a ride from the dark peak guide book we have.

Then we thought we would ride in the lakes and pick a ride around ullswater. We are now undecided so need your help.

We live in oxenhope and would actually like to do a ride in Yorkshire.

What ride would you do if you had the day off work?

Weather forecast is pretty good for Ullswater area on Monday. But the place will be very busy with half term holiday makers – most of whom were soaked to the skin and blown head over heels today – determined to make max use of the one decent day forecast this week.

Suggest you try the area around Kentmere – starting at Staveley – where there is great cross country riding in abundance without too many walkers. Why not start at Wheelbase bike shop and they will very happily point you towards some great routes (and sell you the appropriate map).
