Needs to be fuel efficient, diesel, 5 seats min, 7 a bonus.
Cheapish and reliable, but roomy. Will not do tons of miles though.

Really I need a vivaro size van with extra seats, but the ££££ just isn’t there 🙁

Galaxy, Seat etc?? Peugeot or Fiat had big copies of each other too..

If you can live with an old style 1.6 Zafira and a 100k warranty they’re about £10kish. I wouldn’t have one tho….

Edit – the diseasel is about £1k more.

Zafira are tiny; an Astra estate with a bit more headroom. The middle seats are a squeeze for 3 kids, never mind adults.

Galaxy/Sharan are much more roomy. The latest models are bigger again, but much more ££££’s.

6 proper full-size seats – and room for luggage
Cheap to run. Great engines.
Loads of space in the back if you take the seats out (which are all individually removable).
No longer than a Golf/Astra so parking is a dawdle.

we love our vw touran great car, the only complaint is we have had to change the suspension springs as they went. Seems like a common vw problem though. Apart from that its a great car and would buy one again 🙂

£2.5 – £3.5k can get a reasonable laguna or mondeo for that?
