Topeak Hexus and a Gerber Vise covers all my trail needs.

Possibly a 3rd (Park) tyre lever if your combo is a bit recalcitrant.

The older Topeak 16 tool is also good but I think is now EOL.

Three allen keys, a small chain tool and a plastic tyre lever. O and a very small pair of pliers i bought from the pound shop(for a pound).

I liked the look of the Lyzene (sp?) when I tried a mate’s. Even had an 8mm allen key. Like the fact i was stainless steel as mine do seem to get a bit neglected.

Hexus. They do a 29er version now as well, I gather.

Topeak Hexus or possibly their ratchety thing. Lezyne make prettier tools but nobody makes a more practical one.

Crank Bros ones are good. About the only Crank Bros product I’ve found to be reliable 🙂

Impressed with my Hexus, means I only really carry that and a pump tools wise now! Both of which are also tiny 🙂

Crank bros was a good bit of kit until mine fell apart at the joints. Have now picked up a park multi tool, seems good so far.

+1 for Crank Bros. On my second as I lost the first after 7 years. Worth threadlocking the bolts in. Surprisingly good, considering how pish everything else they make is!

for the swiss army knife style ones go with crank bro’s or Lyzene, just pick the one thats right for you.

i’d stay away from specialized (as they seem to be made from cheese) & park (as they seem to weigh the same as a full tool kit).

i’ve heard that the topeak ratchet rocket is very good if thats you kinda thing.
