I’ve got Trailrakers on one bike and Mud-X’s on another at the moment.

Trailrakers are brilliant off road, but they do feel slow, and on road its like having a anchor dragging behind the bike,

Mud-x’s are much quicker and are much better than the Nobby nics I run during the summer, however on a recent ride a mate with Trailrakers dissapeared up a hill whilst the Mud-x’s just slipped.

If you can live with the drag, get the trailrakers

    Trailrakers everyday!
Throw it into corners and the bike sticks.
    Dependable in the mud.
Who cares about on road? They are mud tires

    Agreed – mud x.

When not too bad, use a Bonty Jones ACX – like ‘Mud X lite’.

Tioga Factory Mud 1.8. I’ve only had to use them once though.

+1 for mud-x unless really sticky, then Medusa’s for max shedding, we have really nast sticky/claggy clay around here and medusa’s are the best for shedding although Panareacer Fire Mud Pro’s are ok too. Mud-x is nicer all round tyre though.
