OK this is quite pathetic, but I can’t think for myself, I’ve got a bad history with haircuts. It’s now… 10 years and 3 months since I went to a hairdressers, but it’s time to get rid of the long hair, I’m fed up of it. Got a job interview next friday so I want something sensible, nothing too… what’s the word? ****.

So basically what I need is a common sense practitioner of hair advice, who can look at my ridiculous def leppard barnett and say “This is what you need, it’ll suit your funny shaped head, won’t leave any random bald spots and won’t need any specialised training or tools to maintain, and won’t make you look like your mum did it”

So, who are the trusted hair technicians? And who are the back-street hairologists?

i personally like the hairdresser on earl grey street – about £10 a pop for my bonf, but consistently the best cut, and a mile better than any edinburgh barber shop.

also, AVOID AFRIN (?) BARBERS JUST UP FROM THE GRASSMARKET! the guy cut his hand quite badly and bled all over my head for several minutes before reluctantly (and poorly) applying a plaster!

If you’re after no-nonsense barbering, there’s a Turkish place on the on Willowbrae Road just after the Jock’s Lodge traffic lights. They do a good wet shave too.

I only trust Angie at ESQ Barbers in Bruntsfield with my rapidly thinning hairline… Kenny’s quite good there too.

p.s. prepare to be amazed how quickly hair CAN dry!

Sorry. How could I forget an old mate who owns this establishment.

    Woods. Cheap and cheerful.

I would recommend the place I go to, but you’d consider it ****.

Anyway let’s see your mop as it is?

London barbers next to The Bike Chain.
    Run by a Turkish bloke.
Does the works…Head, eyebrows, nose, neck, he hits your ears with a flaming wee stick then he rubs cheap lotion all over your head so you smell like a french brothel (i imagine).
It’s actually a good job for eight quid, or 25 for that & cut-throat shave.

OK cheers, looks like I’m off to ESQ, but Stabilizers is getting it if I come back looking like a freak.

Cheers for telling me how to think again folks!

    How did it go?

I’ve been thinking of losing my mop and can’t decide on a professional or the clippers…

Relatively painless… Still hasn’t fixed me fringe though, maybe it’s beyond repair. Cheers for the recommendations!
