mate bought one for 9€ and it broke. we've found one to replace it for 40€ but it's exactly the same!

I have had 3 in the past varying from about £10 to about £50. The only real difference were the extra cutter shapes and moulds you get with the more expensive.

They all broke with similar faults. The roller bearings broke on two and the bit inside the roller where the handle attaches broke on the other. Avearage life span of about 1 year.

If you do find a good one, let me know as I have been without one for a couple of years now.

Mine's a 'pro cook' one, it's been fine, but please dont tell anyone I admitted to owning one – if the locals found out, I'd be in for a right shoeing.

@ roper. i think you're right. opened up the old ebay jobbie and found it had bent teeth on the sprockets.
