    My lad loves carcassone. The field scoring is a bit complicated but that can be missed out. He loves frustration too.

    Ratuki is like a much better derivative of snap. Fast, disorderly but fun. Rewards tactical thinking surprisingly.

    Amazing Labyrinth by Ravensberger. Tactical but fun at the same time.

    My kids seem to like draughts.Simple but always fun,teaches them strategy too.After a week of playing it they very quickly get to grips with it and you no longer have to hold back on nicking their pieces.
