Can anyone recommend something cheapish. I want only the ablity to track a route and download it, and the ability to upload to it a route I drew on http://www.bikehike.co.uk and for it to tell me where to go with a little arrow or something, don’t need map features heart rate. As you can probably tell I have do virtually no research into these things.

    Anyone got any advice?

Garmin Geko or a basic Etrex.

Got a geko with a copy of memory map I found somewhere. I carry a back up map every time but can’t see why I would need a higher end GPS.

I do like the GPS though, really keeps you moving on new routes, as opposed to constant stop / start with maps. I have got lost with it but if you have your map you can call a grid ref.

    Make sure you get a 201 or a 301, NOT a 101

Had mine ages so didn’t realise the 101 was still availale. – DON’T get it.

Mines a 201, and only when I am planning long routes have I ran out of way points. Easy to change before sending to gps though.

Connects to pc fine but can be a real pain to set the com port.

So more balanced opinion and possibly a little out of date.

For the price though I still don’t need owt else
