Can anyone recommend any covers bands based in the south peak/derby area? Its quite a small venue, so probably not suitable for a large band.
We would like a band that plays a good range of stuff.
I am getting married later in the year and still need to sort a band?

Let me ask my bro-in-law he's in a band called Outside Groove. It might be too far but doesn't hurt to ask.

I play in a number of bands in the midlands, Derby wouldn't be a huge trek.
Probably the best one would be a four-piece funk and soul band:

Is that of any interest?
Otherwise I have a full function band, and we could cut the horns to fit in the space!

just heard back...
"It's a bit of poke though innit
If I could snort a line of coke off the brides tits then we're on! Depends on the rack though obviously."
If you're interested send bride pics to email in prof and I'll forward them on.

Midnight Pumpkin Trucks
Dodgy name but great band
Covers from '60's to modern day, they do a great Beatles medley, brilliant Adam Ant and loads of Oasis type stuff etc
Really got everyone on the dance floor at our wedding from Gran right down to the kids
All our friends commented how good they were
Typical pub / wedding band stuff really but very very good quality
only charged something like £500 (most others wanted £1500 or more)
Given there was 4 of them plus sound / lighting guy etc that seemed pretty decent
They are based in Derby and regularly play around the East Mids so you should be able to check them outGuy that takes the bookings I think is called Ian

Check out 'the banned' they really are awesome. Play weekly around the tameside/manchester area. They always fill the venue too. Recently sold out a few ticket only gigs in days!

I don't know how good they are, but one of my colleagues plays in a soul band based in Chesterfield who do weddings and stuff:

they're very good, She's hot and has a great voice, we played a 'they'll-never-know-this' request game with them, and we lost.

My friend had a band called Psychoslinkys at his wedding do and they were fantastic.
(You know they are going to be good when they warm up with Led Zep and Terrorvision songs)
They played all sorts of wedding-appropriate songs (Beach Boys, REM, classic Rock'n'Roll-type songs) as well as some heavier stuff. They were very good and from what my mate said they were pretty reasonably priced too.Anyway, they're here: Psychoslinkys

They were awesome, did covers of everything from Van Morrison to Kings of Leon and Snow Patrol.
Absolutely Superb, very friendly, sat down with them after the wedding for a few beers, they were ace!
