    Hi all,

I’m looking for a fun 29er hardtail to supplement my 150mm full susser on longer, flatter, aggressive XC types of rides.

I’m not looking for an all-out XC racer though, just something that’s playful and pedals efficiently.

    My budget is approximately £1,000-1,500.

    Please send in your suggestions!

    Thanks,

    Pete

So far, I like the look of:

    Kona Honzo Al
    Titus Fireline Evo
    Cotic Solaris
    Ragley Bigwig
    Onza Payoff

I’ve had two Stanton Sherpas and they are ace wish I’d never sold the second one. These or the Solaris would get my vote
Bigwig and Payoff are on the heavy side

^^Might need to be prudent on build but maybe possible for 1500

Love my Solaris, more planted than playful though IMO

Solaris with Yaris gets my vote… 😆

Whyte 629 at £1125, spend some of the change on a stealth dropper post, wider bars and more aggressive front tyre and you’ll still have enough for a dirty weekend away too!

Saracen Zenith Trail is pretty tidy in the flesh.

    bargain genesis

I’d also suggest looking at the boardman pro which is lightweight with decent spec. My dad has one and it’s very nice. Only lacking tubeless rims, but you’d have plently leftover for a nice wheelset.
