Use a Kona Smoke 29er with rim brakes for commuting duties. Will need new wheels at some point and am looking for v-brake with 135mm rear spacing and a pretty wide rim as I run 37 and 42 width tyres. Can't seem to find anything except mavic speed city ones. Pointers please.

Ta, those seem to be rims, I'll nosey to see if they have wheels.

any road wheels will do – so search for 700c road, touring, hybrid cyclocross wheels rather than '29er'

particularity touring and hybrid ones espec latter for 135oln – though at push 130oln would fit with a spring back end
