Just being a bit smarter than normal but am in a relatively good position in having cash in the bank and no mortgage on two incomes. Saying that though we wanted to shuffle some furniture around and got everything we wanted off an auction website for $300 instead of about 2.5K so that was a good move. Buying wine by the casenow and negotiating discounts, ditto beers, bulk buying bog roll and stuff. But not panicking. Thing is, on Sat night we threw a party (for our recent wedding) and of the 10 self employed people there who own businesses not one said that they had seen any downturn at all ?

Stopped: spending money on drinking, eating out, smoking, holidays, gadgets, clothes, the gym, mobile phone.

    Started: spending on baby stuff
