I’ve started to do more uplift days and DH. I’m also going to whistler next year so think I could do with the extra protection to go along with my poor skills.

I don’t want the the big whole body suits. Something that is short sleeve maybe? and not too restrictive(moon on a stick).

    Anybody got any of these?

The Troy Lee is very light and the sizing comes up tight.
If you are looking for minimal then that would be the way to go.
However if you are looking for better protection then the alpinestars or bluegrass. I’d also throw the POC spine tee into the mix, which is my personal choice.

I have the Bluegrass Grizzly one. I really like it, used it for a month solid in the Alps this summer and had no trouble at all. It’s very low profile, comfortable and doesn’t get too hot. I barely noticed it while out riding.

My only complaint is I would have liked a kidney belt to keep it in place, though in reality it doesn’t ride up much anyway. Didn’t have any major crashes, so can’t really speculate too much on it’s protection level, seems good though.

I have the 7850. I dont race DH but its a nice added layer for fooling around at Aston or BPW etc.
Sizing comes up large, so go for a size smaller that you would usually.

    Cheers.

Think I will either go for the alpinestars or bluegrass. Probably more of a case of which one fits better I think.
