Building up a play hardtail for blasting round local trails and riding jumps, pump tracks and a bit of mini DH.

How stiff are 100mm rebas in qr flavour? I’m trying to put together the bike on a budget and would rather not have to spend too much money.

the qr flavour equates to a mint choc chip of a stiffy

unless your riding regularly encroaches on something a bit more neopolitan, they will be fine

    Unaware of the icecream/stiffness ratio.

The 9mm DT RWS axles, as sold by Just Riding Along, will stiffen it up a bit if your hubs are convertible (Pro2/Pro2Evo/Pro3):

as the torque you can get tightening it up is higher than normal QR and is also better than the Superstar and other cheaper axles.

the increase in torque with the RWS is enough to show the casting error in my SIDs, whereas the Superstar one didn’t show it.

They’re alright, a few years ago everyone had QR’s on their forks upto 140mm and there were no issues 😉

Mind you they may not take to well to reapeted ‘casing’ of big doubles 😀
