    sounds tempting.

is it one of the newfangled 2009 models? they look pretty easy to fit.

Some of the new ones are rubbish- the bolt design on the bracket's very weak- it relies on ribs in the soft plastic, which is basically idiocy- and the early ones had a bad joint between guard and bracket so they flap (though it doesn't fall off, it's still annoying). Some people say the newer ones are improved but I'm not totally convinced just yet, Crud's argument seems to be that it's all user error though despite that they seem to have changed the design. Still, t's nice looking, and light, and works well when it's not broken, and you can fix the problems with superglue and a soldering iron if they do come up…

Still, I prefer last year's model, which was brilliant. I even prefer the 1995 one I have in the garage 😉

got the new model, all seems fine, bolt and clamp have stayed tight, plastic is very flexible, and its not come loose at all
