Probably a silly question but I managed to bend my rear mech hanger on my KTM Scarp Sonic at the Glentress 7 and I have no idea how to get the damn thing off. Is there a special tool for this, taking the bike to the LBS tomorrow but am a little frustrated as I tend to do most of my maintenance at home.

The hanger screws into a removable O ring which has small indentations around the facing, this is what makes me think there is a special tool for removal.

    Any advice gratefully accepted.

Is it a chainring bolt? In which case there is indeed a special tool, chainring bolt spanner.

Many are held on with a chainring bolt…

Yes, special tool by the look of it, but pretty standard as special tools go. I can’t remember the name but it just has two pins on it. a bent bit of spoke will do the trick though…

Thanks guys for the advice and link, should have managed to find that.
Will get onto the distributor and get him to send me one, probably good to have it!
