    If there is a rough bearing type of noise when the back wheel spinning while the cranks aren’t, but none when the pedals are turning the wheel, I assume this is the bearings in the freehub that need a bit of attention rather than the axle?

    It’s a Formula DC38, on the wife’s Trek.
