Where from? The rear on Mrs M’s (my) 1994 Diamond Back Topanga commuter has just given up the ghost.

I always thought you could get cheap wheels from Halfrauds and Decathlon but they all seem to be screw on cassette fitments which is no good as a straight swap. Any bright ideas?? 🙂

    The damage:

Must be loads knocking about. I run a set of these.. 50 quid for the rear, deore hubs and Raleigh mach 1 rims. Built very well and have lasted 3000 miles so far. Not the lightest but about the best you will get new for this budget.

Ive got some 26″ wheels, think they are 7 or 8 speed v brake things. Just sat doing nothing.

If you can get to north Bradford you can have them

They’d be perfect Dunc, but a bit far to travel and not economic for either of us to post I’m sure!! Thanks though.

Don, thanks for that link too – I was thinking even cheaperer than those to be honest, this is literally for a hackabout commuter. I’ll keep looking!

If you want dirt cheap try the woolly hat shop, had a quando rear from them to use on the turbo.

No worries. I’m down in Edwinstowe (nr sherwood pines) on 14th Feb if all else fails

Ah, thanks, I think I need them sooner than that but really appreciate the offer.

I think Mr Chunks has the winner anyway, Woolly Hat Shop is a great call. £44.99 for a pair of wheels looks pretty unbeatable…
