just wondered what everyone uses on their garmin handhelp gps systems?

i currently have some 2100mah Nimh phillips ones for my dakota, and even with the screen not set on max bright and sounds off, the battery after about an hours use using a route ive plotted is half dead according to the battery life indicator? the dakota is suppose to have a 20 hour batter life, so are my batterys shite?? if so what others do people use/recommend, may it also be the phillips charger i have is a bit poop too?

    thanks!

2100 is on0the low side there days. Look for some branded 2900s like Ansmann

In the set up menu there is a battery type selector – if this is set to Alkaline batteries the level indicator will not read right for your NiMh, I get around 14 hours from 2650NiMh Ansmann rechargeables.

I use 2400s in my eTrex
In this sort of weather they last around 4 hrs – more like 6 in summer
