I have an occasional problem with my 2003 RC38 LT forks. After a period of quite hard/bumpy riding, the forks start to partially lock out intermittently.

The forks have the remote lockout and operating this doesn't seem to fix it they seem to sort themselves out after a while, but there's nothing in particular that I can do that "fixes" them.

I can imagine that it's something relating to the lockout or the damping associated with that leg, but I can't find out how to get inside the stancion to give the damper an overhaul. I can remove the legs, have taken the circlip off from under the rebound adjuster but there doesn't seem to be a way to get inside them any further.

Anyone got any experience of these forks and how to get inside them?
