As per title, anyone knows if shimano still make the rapid rise rear mech?

i recently bought one from CRC. was thinking i should buy another as i’m not sure if they will still be produced – or at least the 9spd.

Don’t think so. Ended a couple of years ago, iirc.

Am sure the odd shop or twelve will have some sitting unloved in a box somewhere!

XT are still available via Madison in both SGS and GS versions, we’ve still got a few Deores left from a series of ordering cock-ups that we’re flogging at cost, and they’re still not selling.

Damn. I’m running XTR 950-960 rapid rise on all my bikes – I love it. Can’t imagine going back…

Did it not really catch on? (if so, then … why did it not really catch on?)

I’m about to replace the drive components on my Peregrine, and was thinking about using it there, as I like the idea of the mech moving up the block if the spring out-pulls the bar-end shifter on climbs (and not the other way ’round).

Maybe I’d better order it quickly (and order two). 😕
