I admit i know nothing about road bike bits. I have a Trek Madone 5.5 from 2006 more bike than i need but picked it up locally on gumtree for less than i could buy something with alloy frame and forks.
I’ve just wrecked the front wheel by hitting a pothole. Any suggestions on wheels that would suit the bike in replacement. Current wheels are Bontrager Race lites.

    RS80’s? or the model down

    Ksyrium or Aksiums

Oh and if you do want an ‘upgrade’ then spend as much as you can, wheels make the biggest difference to road bike feel/performance
