Hello, during the summer i am planning a bike trip to europe, but will be wanting to hop on and off trains for around 14 days to get through different areas. What is the cheapest way of getting a ticket to allow me to just get on and go on any train in europe?

best place for info is http://www.seat61.com – but it doesn’t seem to be working right now this second…

interrail will be quite an expensive way of doing that (€369 I think for that kind of time). You’d probably be better getting a pass based on the country you’re in, or buy tickets as you go.

How many countries, how many stops and where are you going?

3 countries, germany austria and italy, bulk of the time will be in italy although will need to get the train back to munich before we leave. i was thinking a one country pass for italy (8 days unlimited travel) for circa £100 is decent value?
