OK, it’s been a long while coming but finally finished it ! First ever bike I have built myself so fairly proud of it. Everything has been bought from either on here or eBay.

    16″ Blue Pig Frame Frame
    Pikes up front
    SLX Front and Rear Mech
    SLX Chainset (3 ring)
Hope mono mini front and back
    Hope headset
    Sunline Stem
    Nukeproof bars, stem and saddle
    Lizard skin grips
    DMR Pedals

Got the day off on Monday so going to give it a run around Dalby Forest.

So, OK for a first timer ?

very nice, i really fancy a blue pig as an alternative to my full susser, what was the total cost of the build if you dont mind me asking? 😉

Nice, I can’t honestly find anything to skit at or make fun of. Even the grass is quite neat.

If I was being critical though, your fence needs treating.

    Nice bike BTW.

I’m not sure about the new frames’ colour schemes, but otherwise nice.

Total build cost was £820 (there or thereabouts). It’s probably more than what it’s worth but i’ve enjoyed building it too

Frame, seatpost and clamp – £130.00
    Pike Forks – £150.00
SLX Group Set, x317 Wheels and Pedals – £300.00
    Hope Mono Mini’s – £120.00
    Headset – £30.00
    Sunline Stem – £25.00
Nukeproof Bars and Lizard skin grips – £35.00
    Nukeproof Seat – £30.00

The frame is a few years old and I’m guessing was a custom spray job as I’ve not seen one like it before.

Wheels are x317 disc with Hope Pro II’s on front and Deore hub on rear.

I’ll top up the bird feeders tomorrow and the fence can wait a few weeks 😀

Great price for the bike and given you bought the bits second hand you’ve combined them very sweetly.

I think he means the gear indicators, it was the only obvious quibble I had with it (and the brakes slammed against the grips but if that works for you who am I to complain).

I didn’t know you could / should take them off ? What’s the benefit ? I’m guessing you put blanking plates over them then ?

For a lot of people in order to get your index finger to line up with the tip of brake lever, to allow proper one fingered braking, you need to remove the windows and move the brakes the other side of the shifter clamp. The indicator is also rather pointless so they might as well come off.

Blanking plates are under the windows – no benefit, other than they look more awesome without them, giving you to power to ride rad.
