I have this chain set on my Orange 5, and noticed a "pinking" last night in my cranks when I stood out of my saddle and pushed hard on the cranks. Is this the first sign that my bottom bracket is on its way out ? Shame, cos I haven't done that many miles on it as yet….
If so, can I use the same removal tool I use for my XT HT II Cranks and any suggestions as to which BB I should use next time ???
    😕

Finally! Someone else with the same problem!

I've tried everything on mine, BB, bolts, pedals all to no avail.

I've deveided that it's the bonded join between the non-driveside crank arm and axle, as it only happens at teh left side when loading and unloading the cranks.

No idea of a cure though, sorry…

i had a similar noise – turned out to be the cables tapping together when i pedalled because of the slight suspension bob.

Keithb – I am gonna check everything over tonight – if there is an inherent problem then maybe Race Face are aware………???

Sometimes the cable ferrule on the end of my front mech catches on the crank arm then 'pings' against the frame
