Just rebuilt my hardtail and the XT shadow rear mech is making contact with the chain on the cassette because its too close. How can i fix that? Please…

You need to wind in the B tension screw, on the back of the top part of the mech to correct your angle of dangle.

OK I’ll try that, thanks. Not sure if thats the screw I tried but didn’t seem to make much difference, but from the sound it there might be another lurking round the back…

B-tension screws on shadow mechs should make a noticable difference, check the lug on the mech mounting is sitting behind the lug on the dropout, not in front of it.
