  • Quick release with a longer than normal skewer?

I need a nice long rear quick release skewer for the trailer attachment on the Croozer I picked up last week. With an alloy frame (thick drop outs) and the little ‘towing block’ under the skewer nut, there isn’t much thread engagement. Its on a mountain bike.

I’ve already stripped an alloy quick release nut.

Reverted to a steel Shimano, but it doesn’t look too secure.

So does anyone make slightly longer than normal QR’s???

Get a 145 one for example

If need be you can cut the thread longer on the skewer. I know shimano do them as I have one on the tandem
