    As I’m going to me missing the Milton Keynes world cup round, I’ve got this crazy notion of getting a Friday evening ferry to Calais, bike a few miles in search of a bivi spot, bed down, pedal to Koksijde on Saturday morning for the beer, frites and mayo, racing and general crazy euro-ness then return to Blighty on Sunday.

    Anyone done similar?

    Good plan, do it. Rode from home to Dover into N France, onto the cobbles south of Roubaix the next day as part of a 4-day bivi ride this Autumn. Really easy, just turn up and get a ferry. £25 w/o a booking.
