  • Question on setting sag on coil + air assist forks for heavy rider

    So, I have a pair of 2012 marzocchi 55 RC3 ti forks which have the coil spring for preload as well as an air chamber preload.

    I’m too heavy to set the sag required for me at 0 PSI air pressure and maximum coil preload setting.

    I’ve always just topped up with a bit of air in the chamber whilst leaving the spring preload maxed out – is that the right way to do it or should i back off the spring preload a bit and before putting some air in??
