GrahamS – The Boathouse in Wylam is a brilliant pub. I had a night in there when me and a mate rode Hadrian’s wall a few years back. It’s not snobby at all, there was an Irish Wolfhound AND a Chihuahua in the same bar. Very inclusive.

As long as they were both wearing black ties. 🙂

Aye that wolfhound is massive. I’m pretty sure the owner just slings a saddle on it to get home. Looks you right in eyes when you’re sat down, but it’s as shy as a row of coconuts though.

Haha, I noticed that, the chihuhua was goading it and the wolfhound just went and lay in the corner.

Dog friendly pubs are the best kind. Most of them also seem to sell real ale, there must be something in that.

Black Sheep is similar, I’ve had some awful pints and great ones,

Yep, damn Theakstons’s, hate ’em all 🙂

Except that Black Sheep is probably closer to real Theakstons than Theakstons is!
