I am in the process of reinstalling the air spring unit, whilst servicing some Reba forks.

There are 2 washers which sit between the base of air spring and the retaining circlip.

When I first tried to remove the air spring, the service guide tells you to apply pressure with a 15 mm socket whilst undoing the circlip.

This took some effort and the base unit wouldn

How critical are these 2 washers?

    Any advice appreciated………….

Something strange is happening to my posts and some text has been removed.

I have reinstalled the 2 sprung washers under the base plate of the air spring, then the circlip, but the upper washer has split, even though it seems to locate in the recess OK.

Are they meant to be slightly sprung so that they apply downwards pressure on the circlip,or does the air spring base plate push down on to the circlip once the air is added?

How critical are these 2 washers?

I assume its the o rings that maintain air pressure, and these are more to locate the baseplate?
