Was up there yesterday and they are in a poor state after the bad weather last week – rode from Lydard hill CP along the ridge past Crowcombe – ridge was like a river with snow drifts between Lydyeard and Triscombe, then taking the Black hill ridge down into Holford – this was chewed up very, very wet, muddy and slippery, difficult to ride. Holford is a disaster area, loads of trees down, we had to walk a lot of it till the clearing before the pull up to the top. Stream crossings were knee deep.I have been riding Holford for 20 years and some of the route was not recogniseable because of stream re route and trees down.
Take care if you go up there, not a good place at present.

Cheers for that 3bikeman, I was thinking of heading there this w/end, but sounds like it could do with time to recover. I may have to head over to the man-made trails at the FoD instead. Difficult to find anywhere near to Wilts that hasn’t been knackered by the incessant rain (open to suggestions, and no, I don’t have a road bike 😉 )
