Was passing QECP today on the A3 so stopped for a ride of the trail. Despite being wet, slippery and covered in leaves, I thought it was a fine test of climbing and descending skill. It’s rare to have such rooty, technical climbing with tight little switchbacks on an established trail. In the wet it’d be a fun challenge to ride it without messing up at least once.
Looking forward to having a go in the dry and smashing the descents a bit harder.

Well done to all those who put in the hard work and thanks for a new trail for me to enjoy from time to time.

As someone who has only infrequently helped out, I can’t really take much of the credit, but I’ll pass your comments on. The guys that have organised all the work, designed the improvements and dug the trails are incredibly dedicated. It’s a real triumph of team work. They’ve got big plans for the future too…

Go say hello to them here… http://www.qecptrailcollective.co.uk/ or @QECP_Collective

Glad you enjoyed it.. As you say, it is a real challenge in the wet, especially along the A3 section with all the off-camber roots. I can’t wait for it to be dry again… it was fantastic the very end of March, but it feels like it’s been raining non-stop since then.

The OP summed it up well

Hard work on the singlespeed this morning but the only ‘bad’ bits were parts of the 1st climb, end of hard Shoulder and Ghost Cat. Rest was lovely if a little leafy.
