i have a itch that i need to scratch………and the pugsley could be the back scratcher.

You can start the scratching by fitting a fat fork and fat wheel to your existing bike.

i was just gonna ask………..what fork is suitable if i was to do a home build.

Pugsley, about £90, or you can do what I did and bodge up a free fork (rigid) out of clapped out suspension forks

Has anyone got/ordered or dealt with Sandman yet. Link to website (under construction) HERE They seem very good value if this is correct – from mtb.be
This is for plain, non painted frames. Production time is 2 weeks. Having your frame painted adds 100,- Euros and two weeks extra (I have to send it out to have it powdercoated or painted).

All frames have 165mm rear hub and 100mm bottom bracket spacing and can easily accomodate Endomorph tires on up to 100mm rims. Cable eyelet type and routing is free of choice as are eyelets for rear luggage racks and come at no extra cost.
Free choice of integrated or 1.1/8 head set bearings and normal rear drop-outs or single speed ones. Combined single speed dropout with derailleur attachment also available.
Polished welds come at an extra charge of 100,- Euro.

Wide CRMO forks with disk brake attachments for normal front hubs come at 59,- Euros unpainted. 79,- Euro painted. Same price for 135mm spaced forks.
No extra cost for luggage attachment eyelets.

The weights for the 3 different frame options, all in size M:

Steel Kalahari: 2250 gr

Non butted alu Atacama: 1920 gr

Hydroformed, butted Gobi: 1740 gr

So, a basic unpainted frame and fork for not much more than 400 euros. Seems like a bargain !

i have emailed the guy but as yet had no reply – not so keen on the 165 rear end BUT ill just turn down some spacers if need be !

new pugsleys due at xmas will be white apparently- watch you dont loose it in the snow

Woody, Paul78 has a Sandman frame … that's his up there^.

I've emailed them and am waiting to hear back, however I am told that he can be a touch slow with these things.

EDIT: There isn't one up there^ … must have been a different thread but he does have one, really he does 😉

Seems to be a touch slow on communication and the web site was suppossed to be up and running a year ago!

yep 146mm is correct, check with Brixton Cycles, thats where i ordered mine, there is a choice of 2 different insert cups for the drive side, one is collared for an E-type mech and one with no collar for single speed,

i have a raceface taperlock – i have both cups for it – i used to run them on my downhill bikes 😀

so i now have a BB and a set of BLUE raceface turbine cranks for this bike …..

and a rohloff for the ragley …..

my missus is going to KILL me
