Looked in to going SUP boarding round Bewl water, and the team there said we needed public liability insurance.

Is there a good place to find this? or could this be included when joining UK Canoe club etc?

On what grounds do they think you need it? and who are ‘the team there’? PL insurance is typically for businesses / business activity rather than private individuals – why have cover for that activity and not every other instance where you leave the house? And why would you have to have cover for your activity at that venue? Does every other visitor – walkers, cyclists, anglers – have to be insured?

That said – have a look at your household insurance – sometimes you have some 3rd party liability cover bundled in as as part of that

If you join a BCU-accredited canoe club or RYA sailing club then you’ll get all the insurance you need. Alternative join BCU as an individual for the same benefits http://www.ps-bcu-insurance.com/
