Some trail repair news for the mountain bikers. We are closing the downhill section of the Altura Trail north loop from Wed 9th Jan to carry out drainage work, tree felling and resurfacing by a tracked excavator. This is likely to take 4 weeks, possibly more to allow it to dry out and settle. The closed section is from “Happy Days” Jct 3 to Horsebox Crossroads. The route is diverted via a boring (sorry!) forest road. The very last downhill section with Grandads Wheel and Grand national is still open, although we will be moving into that area after the above is finished. Will update you with the progress. Thanks.
