    In other news:
Marathon training ‘may not pose a heart risk’

would you rather die old and infirm or being stamped to death by barney the dinosaur after you’ve collapsed 200meters before the finish line when your heart explodes?

having done a marathon earlier in the year, without any training, I can wholeheartedly say its a very bad idea, and training is probably, on balance, better for your body..

Exactly Duggie… training is part of my lifestyle 🙁

I hear laughing is good for you and the mental image of being stampeded by Barney is making me LQTM.

Not really surprising. Top athletes in any field are clearly doing themselves damage.

Not that it matters. You’re going to die, you may as well do what you want.

has anyone ever used the scrabble tiles to tile a bathroom or kitchen?

Was just about to post the same link as the OP. It is possibly the vaguest non-story I’ve ever read*, and draws no conclusions whatsoever.

*although I admit I haven’t read the Daily Express for a while.

Scrabble rage is the leading cause of domestic violence in the over-60s.

How about some scrabble furniture to go with that lovely flooring?

    Edit: Too late Phil.

Reading news reports of academic research is a health risk.

I suspect the actual article is more circumspect.

Just how many times would you write boobies or cocks in a scrabble tile floor?

thats not the same jamie… wooden tiles? what kinda madness. waterproof plastic ones would work great in the bathroom… and you could spell out a load of amusing bathroom related words!

The original article is far more circumspect and there are some pretty big leaps of faith in the reporting.

Not seen iDave around for a bit… does anyone know what bike he had and how tall he was?

    Life in every breath.

Anyway, we all know the body can be adapted / encouraged to perform.
I think its more important to know how to achieve this, without ill effect.

Sleeping’s not been good for me. I woke to find I’d done something nasty to my shoulder rolling over in bed part way through last night.
