I've seen a few posts about this in the past and thought I should share an exercise I've found on youtube which has helped me out remarkably.
Like most other people who suffer with this I've tried different stretches and physio on numerous occasions with little effect and was ready to give up on my running because of the pain.
I'm now back up to ten miles and my knees feel great, I hope this helps someone.

Cheers for that. Sister has been having some trouble with her knee when running, so forward it on in case it helps.

If I was flexible (and tall) enough to get my foot on the kitchen counter, I sure as hell wouldn't have ITB issues..!

I'll have a look at that, I love running but for the last couple of years 15 minutes has been my maximum before I've felt it start to tighten.

I know It can be a very personal thing and some people find foam rollers etc work, But this has completely removed the problem for me.
I could barely run 3 miles without it flaring up before this.
It's took my a few months to get back up to ten miles but I feel I can keep pushing now.Posted 1 year ago # -
Sweet, I'll have to give this one a try.
Foam roller really helps me but it never quite gets rid of it completely.

That actually looks quite painful, but I'm still going to give it a try, probably tonight after the gym. I'll see how it compares to my "figure 4" stretches.

What's the deal with foam rollers?

roper , that's just wrong on so many levels.

Foam roller looks tricky, fella above's worktop stretch looks easier. Think I'll give that one a go first.

Keep an open mind about what stretch or combination of stretches you find suits you best, Like I said It can be a very personal thing. It just happens that I've tried everything possible and nothing worked except this for me.
