Prob late to the party with this but was plamning to make some mulled wine tonight. Popped into lidl to get some cheap wine and picked up their £3.99 merlot.

Just had a small glass with dinner before infusing with mulled spices expecting it to be rank, but its actually really nice; Think I will buy a case tomorrow!

The Cimarosa one? I bought a bottle last week on the off chance and it’s good stuff! Was gonna do a blind taste test with my mate and one of his £40 bottles 🙂

Aldi do very good wine IMO.

Had Waitrose dasic Chilean the other night, v good for £5.

Aldi Toro Loco Reserva £4.99 just now and its lovely! The non reserva is very very nice too.

Tesco are doing Campo Viejo Rioja at £4.49 a bottle at the moment. Well worth a look at that price.

Timidwheeler, they also have a reserva as well as the normal Toro loco.

I’ll recommend Aldi’s Amarone (sorry don’t know the producer), it’s only £14.99 (you’re unlikely to normally find an Amarone for under £25) and it’s an IWC silver medal winner to boot, fantastic wine. You’ll find it with the Xmas products.
