As it says really – check out Cloud Wines (think it's still called that: just up from Frenches anyway) in Bedford Place – a case of 20 Staroslau for £13. Similar deals on other beers are available (in the same shop).

Staroslau is much like many other eastern European beers – 5% ABV, clean and tasty, best chilled.

Lots of wine deals – mix'n'match 3 for a tenner. My favourite destination for liquid supplies when we're in Southampton.

Also try Bitter Virtue for loads of decent beer! Not cheap (as they import their continental beers themselves) but you won't find most of their beers this side of the channel, in my experience.
