I hope so too. I read in the radio times that the BBC want another series but Mackenzie Crook is undecided. Hopefully he doesn’t follow the Ricky Gervais formula of just 2 series and then leave the viewers wanting more.

I thought that ending felt fairly final sadly.

It was good but it suits being set in summer and having Becky in it.

I hope he doesn’t do any more. A superb programme that has ended well, walking off into the distance on a winters day whilst having mates chats is a fitting end.

    Well done Mr Crook.

bikebouy +1. As much as I’ve loved both series, I’d be happy with the story being left at it’s conclusion now.

I think it was a good ending to it, not sure how hey could resurrect any more stories unless Lance moves over to Botswana.

Agree, the whimsical conversations with Lance work far better in sunshine. (Incidently, the weather in the series is fluke – just happened to be sunny when they filmed.)

I’m hoping for another series, but agree its sort of reached a conclusion.

The good news is for me its all about characters and atmosphere so rewatching old ones is fine because the plot and dialogue aren’t the most important thing. (For me.)

A lot of effort went into the ‘romantic interest’ mechanic to leave it there……

What were the coins he bought with the find money?

    outofbreath

I thought 2p coins – a token offering while he donated the 50k to the museum.

I think the coins were gold…why else go to a specialist shop?

His long term investment is buried where he knows he can find it.

The love interest was to hint at some happiness for Lance – both him and Andy end up happy.

Mackenzie Crook will have learned the winning sitcom formula from Ricky Gervais, leave on a high note.

Loved it, and likewise, kinda hope they just leave it there..

(Incidentally, the weather in the series is fluke – just happened to be sunny when they filmed.)

    Not completely true..

In a brilliant article Crook explained it should have been filmed in the crappy weather, as that’s when they are out, as the fields have been cut etc, but he wanted the whole thing to be as much about the scenery, and the background as the characters..

The coins were gold sovereigns, shirley? Does anyone know where the round-tower church is in series 2? I live near to Fram where lots of it’s filmed and don’t recognise the church. I was cycling up the hill to the castle whilst they were filming in the church hall (scout hut) during the summer, didn’t see any of the cast unfortunately. Btw, the ‘Two Brewers’ is actually the Castle Inn, and they have used the White Horse for exteriors in S1.
