Saw on a newsfeed last night that the Angelcare Baby Monitors with the movement pad bit have been recalled.

Apparently a couple of kids in North America have been killed by being strangled by pulling the movement pad cord from under the mattress and getting tangled in it.

To save you reading the recall notice on the Daily Fail website the advice is to unplug the movement pad and call Angelcare UK (0845 009 1789) and they will send you a thing to make the cord rigid and thus prevent strangulation.

    Cheers

Why would any sensible parent not cable tie the cord to the slats under the cot…

Been using the Angelcare for 2 years and jamesyjnr1 has never once gotten a hold of the cord, won’t hesitate to use it for jamesyjnr2!

You can’t help but wonder how some folk make it through life without instructions…

recall is only USA & canada, not UK

reading between the lines it looks like both cases the cord wasnt secured properly and the unit was too close to the cot enabling the cord to be pulld into the cot. i.e. they didnt read the instructions.

Looks like you can still get your cord cover if you want it though in the UK
