My wife has a small hair salon (2 full time and 2 part time stylists) and plays the radio throughout the day. She has a PRS licence but recently has been made to get a PPL licence too. I’ve just checked the PRS website and I can’t see anything that says she needs this licence. (She only listens the radio, not CDs, records or tapes.)

Any experts out there who can confirm for me one way or the other if she needs this PPL licence?

    Thanks

I would suggest email them and asking. There is a contact/help address, I have used it myself, took a week or so but they did respond.

As you have the public in the building you will need a Public Playing Licence as well. If it was an office with only workers, no customers then you wouldn’t need a PPL.

    Although I could be wrong!
