    Hi guys and girls,

My question to you all is,
My cannondale prophet’s rear wheel isn’t sitting square in the triangle.
It at least 5mm closer to the non drive side rear stay than the other side.
I have checked the wheel by reversing it but the gap remains the same.
It’s not too bad so I can live with it, although get slight tyre rub under hard cornering.
But I’m just one of those people and it just annoys me if something isn’t right….

So what I’m really asking… Is it diy repairable or can a frame builder sort it? And is going to hurt the pocket?

Redish the wheel. It’s not difficult.

It’s a brand new wheel do I really want to do that? And what does it involve

If the gap remains the same then it’s the frame that’s out. If the dish was out the gap would swap sides. Dropouts can be realigned but it’s not very easy to do on any Ali bike in my experience. Most decent bike shops should have a park frame gauge which will show you whether you frame is on the wonk.

    It’s a wheel, it shouldn’t be square.

iirc my Gemini and Prophet was dished differently to a standard wheel.

you can use an old axle cut in half as a homebrew alignment tool

have a look at sheldons page
