Actually it was really good. I hadn't even heard of the chap. What struck me were the crowd sizes in images.

    That's not a road race that's a hillclimb.

    I'm 'proper' confused.
What is "Proper sad Sunday night Veiwing"?
    Why is it sad?
Why is it viewed on a Sunday night?
    What time trial album?
Who is or was Bernard Thompson?
Who suggested it was a road race and not a hill climb in the first place?
What is the significance of the crowd size?
What exactly are you on about?
Nice picture though, I wouldn't mind a copy of that for the bike cupboard wall.

Well young barca it was a Sunday night bank holiday weekend and I'm in viewing a CD of 300 black and white images of time trialists in action rather than being out having a few.

'A Time Trial Album' is the name of the said CD.

Berard Thompson was a 'famous' cycling photographer whos work covered the 50/60/70/80s.

No one suggested it was a road race. I was surprised at the amount of folk that turned out to watch small time events back then. If it had been the Milk Race then yes I would have expected numbers.

Anyhoo it's a great little photographic collection the quality of the images and style outweighs the rather boring subject.

Google Bernard Thompson photographer for some great old british cycling images.

Kids are great. Why do they always have to stand on a fence? They're no closer to the action. It amuses me.

    Nice pics too.
